my guide to reading fanfiction
- if your story has a bad title, i will most likely not read it
- if your summary sucks, i will most likely not read it
- if you say ‘summary sucks please read’ in your summary, i will most likely still not read it
- if you say ‘first fanfiction go easy on me!’ in your summary, don’t worry i won’t even click the link
- if you have a million chapters and 10 reviews, i will definitely not read it
- if i click your story and all i see are obnoxiously long paragraphs of nothing but boring exposition, i will click the back button
- if your dialogue sucks, i will stop reading it
- if your characterization is way off, i will stop reading it
- if you have multiple grammatical errors, i will stop reading it and give my computer a disapproving look and wonder what the hell you were thinking when you uploaded it
- no, thesaurus.com is not always your friend, please stop you do not even know what that word means
- if you refer to santana as ‘the latina,’ i will become immediately annoyed and most likely stop reading, i promise there are better ways to describe her
- if you use any of the following words incorrectly: there, their, and they’re or you’re and your, i will slap you, especially if it is in an obvious place like the title of your fic oh my god what are you doing
