I gave a very biased view on purpose and I would've left it if I hadn't been insulted which you apologized for. FOX has kept shows with much lower ratings alive. It's considered for certain renewal, I think we'd have to wait and see for the ratings from now on but if they stay above that 6.9 mark they'll probably keep it. Glee is just too different and I think it was never meant to go on for so long. The writers had no ideas beyond S1. It might be best for some of the cast if it is not renewed.
Yes, but why give your biased opinion on purpose? Especially if you know this fandom at all and know that ship wars start with the smallest of sparks. I’m one of those people that likes to debate things (obviously) but the way you went about it was strange. And like I said, we’re defensive.
- The novelty of Glee is wearing off on the public because of the storytelling, yes. And I don’t think Fox is ignorant to reviews—I’m sure those other shows it kept alive like you say weren’t sending ridiculous and mixed messages and receiving negative attention.
- I don’t think they’ll be able to manage much higher than 6.9, if they can at all—did you see that last episode? Nobody watches Glee for that kind of show, at least not a casual viewer. They want good music and to be entertained, not punched in the gut repeatedly by mood whiplash. Even the guest stars and tributes aren’t pulling that many viewers anymore.
- Yes, I agree the writers absolutely did not have any ideas beyond the F13 that they wrote in their bubble before the show became a hit—you can see the shift in tone and more fan pandering come into play in the back 9 of S1.
- I agree that the cast needs to get out. With the material they’re getting, it’s stunting their growth as actors, and in some cases (Jenna and Mark, especially) not letting them do anything, when they’ve got talents to showcase.
